Welch had 25 points and 10 assists in Loss at Georgia
The Wright State women's basketball team fell at Georgia Thursday afternoon 87-71 as senior Chelsea Welch posted a double-double with 25 points and 10 assists after her 29-point performance in WSU's win at Belmont Monday night.
Game Breakdown
First Half (41-31)
   *The game started with an 11-0 run by Georgia but the Raider chipped away, cutting the lead to just five at 20-15. The Bulldogs ended the quarter with a 24-15 lead.
   *Symone Simmons had five points in the first 10 minutes.
   *The Raiders cut the lead to six at 29-23 with 7:13 remaining.
   *Welch ended the half with a team-high 11 points and five assists while Mackenzie Taylor had six points, each hitting two threes.
   *WSU had six threes overall while shooting 33% from the field compared to the home team that shot 64%.
   *UGA held a narrow lead in rebounds at 18-17.
Second Half (87-71)
   *Each team scored 23 points in the third quarter as WSU shot 8-15, including three threes. Wright State cut the game to just four points with about three minutes remaining in the third period.
   *Welch ended the game with 25 points, 10 assists and four rebounds.
   *Taylor ended with nine points and freshman Tyler Frierson came off the bench for eight points.
   *Simmons, Lexi Smith and Dasia Evans each had five rebounds.
