Raiders are now 4-1 in the League

The Wright State women's basketball team built a 28-23 halftime lead but saw it disappear as Northern Kentucky forced overtime just to have the Raiders come back for a 68-63 road win Saturday afternoon in overtime. Wright State is now 13-4 and 4-1.

Senior Chelsea Welch led three players in double-figure scoring with 15 points as the Raiders dominated the boards 44-30.

GAME SUMMARY

First Half Highlights

The Raiders led 20-14 at the first quarter after jumping out to an 11-2 start.
Wright State headed to the locker room with a 28-23 lead at half.
Welch had eight points, four rebounds and three assists in the first 20 minutes.
Breaunna Lloyd came off the bench to collect seven points.
Lexi Smith had six points while Mackenzie Taylor added five points.
WSU shot 43% from the field while the Norse shot 41% and NKU outrebounded the Raiders 16-15.

Second Half Highlights

After three quarters, the Raiders were up 42-40
NKU took the lead at 44-42 early in the fourth quarter.
The teams went back and forth as regulation ended 56-56.
The Raiders went to work and outscored the Norse 12-7 in the overtime session
Welch had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
She needs one point for her 1,000th Wright State points.
Smith had 15 points and seven rebounds hitting seven of nine field goals.
Taylor had 14 points while Symone Simmons grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Raiders shot 37% from the field (25-67) while the Norse shot 48% (25-52).

FACTS AND FIGURES

The Raiders forced 18 turnovers and scored 20 points off them.
NKU led in points off the bench 21-9 and in the paint 36-34.
