Named the 1992 Mid-Continent Conference League Player of the Year and 1992 and 1993 League Pitcher of the Year, Brian Anderson had a decorated career as a Raiders pitcher. He is also one of two Raiders baseball players to have his number (34) retired.

Anderson’s several accolades include being a first-team All-League selection in 1992 and 1993, an All-Tournament team selection in 1992 and 1993, and an ABCA All-Region selection in 1992 and 1993.

As a pitcher, Anderson still holds several places in the Raider record books. His 27 career wins ranks first, his 293 career strikeouts rank first, and his 2.23 career earned run average ranks third.

Anderson’s 1.14 ERA in the 1993 season ranks second for a season-best ERA, and his 11 wins in 1993 rank second for most wins in a season. He hung on for 11 complete games in the 1992 season, which ranks first.

The Anaheim Angels drafted Anderson third overall in the 1993 Major League Baseball draft, making him the highest drafted Raider ever. Anderson also spent time in the MLB with the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals, and Arizona Diamondbacks, where he was a part of the 2001 World Series Champion team. Anderson is now the television analyst for the Tampa Bay Rays.
