Carol Westbeld was the first volleyball player inducted in to WSU’s Mary and Al Schwarz Hall of Fame, and is also a member of the team’s Ring of Fame.
The team MVP in the 1979-81 seasons still holds several records. Her 488 career solo blocks ranks first all-time, and her 143 career service aces rank 10th.
In each of her MVP seasons, she recorded record-setting solo blocks for a single season that still rank first (193 blocks in 1980), second (180 in 1981), and third (115 in 1982).
