Dr. Michael Cusack was the director of athletics at WSU for 25 years. He guided the department through the transition from NCAA Division II to Division I and into the Mid-Continent Conference (now Summit League) in 1991. He helped reform the current Horizon League (then Midwestern Collegiate Conference) in 1995.
Under Cusack’s guidance, WSU built and improved many of its athletic venues, including the Wright State Nutter Center, Nischwitz Baseball Stadium and Alumni Soccer Field, as well as the Setzer Pavilion/Mills-Morgan Center.Â
