Hylton Dayes is one of the most decorated Raider soccer players of all time. Dayes is the only WSU men’s soccer player to be named a first team All-American, and he received that honor in each of his four seasons (1982-85).

During his time as a four-year starter with the Raiders, Dayes was also named first team All-Mideast Region in all four seasons, first team All-Ohio All Divisions in all four seasons, and was a Senior Bowl selection in 1985. He was also named team MVP in each of his seasons with the Raiders.

The Kingston, Jamaica native transitioned in to coaching after his playing career ended, becoming the head coach of the Raiders women’s soccer team from 1987-93, and the head coach of the Raiders men’s soccer team from 1997-2000. Dayes has been the men’s soccer head coach at the University of Cincinnati since 2001, where he is the winningest soccer coach in school history.

Dayes is the only Raiders soccer player to have his number (10) retired by the school.
