As a wrestler at WSU, Kordik was the first Raider to record 100 wins.
Kordik garnered national attention ranking in the top 3 in the 1978 preseason national rankings in the 118 lb. weight class, and was a two-time participant in the NCAA Division II Championships. His best finish saw him place eighth in the 1977 NCAA tournament.
With multiple tournament wins in the 118 lb. weight class, Kordik was named team MVP for the 1976-77 and 1978-79 seasons.
