Peg Wynkoop

Peg Wynkoop was the first women’s volleyball coach at WSU, starting the team in 1973. She still boasts the most career wins of any Raider volleyball coach with 367, and her overall record was 367-215-5 from 1973-86.
After coaching, Wynkoop went in to administration, becoming the school’s first senior woman administrator as Sr. Associate Director of Athletics at WSU from 1986-98.
Wynkoop also held a spot on the board of directors with the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators from 1994-98.
The school’s Female Athlete of the Year award is named for Peg Wynkoop.
