WSU Women's Soccer Tabbed to Place Second in Horizon League

The Wright State University women's soccer team were picked to finish second in the 2001 Horizon League season by league coaches. The Raiders
garnered 30 total votes, including three first place votes. University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, last year's regular-season champion, was chosen to repeat with 31 total votes, including two first place votes.
WSU, which placed third last year, defeated UW-M in the championship game last November to advance to its third straight NCAA Tournament. Wright State lost in the first round to #17 Marquette 2-1 in double overtime. A strong corp of players return for the Raiders' fifth-year head coach Scott Rodgers this fall, including three-time conference tournament MVP and starting goalie Randi Freeman.
The Raiders will open the regular season at Ohio State August 31 with the home opener against Miami September 7.
Butler University was tabbed for third place, receiving two first place votes after tying WSU for third place a year ago.
