WSU-UD soccer game ends in tie

Today at Alumni field the Wright State mens soccer team tied the visiting Dayton Flyers 3-3. After a scoreless first half both teams scored three goals in the second period, then failed to score in either of the two overtime sudden death periods.
The Raiders were lead by Ricky Strong's two goals, with Evan Shrewsbury chipping in a goal. Goalies J.R. Nelson and Chris Schiavone combined for nine saves and faced twenty-five Dayton shots.
The Flyers were lead by Michael Nsien's two goals, with Denny Clanton chipping in a goal. Goalie Matt Hutchins played all one hundred and twenty minutes and had four saves, while facing sixteen Raider shots.
The Flyers scored their last goal with just eleven seconds left in regulation time. Their final two goals were scored in the final four minutes of the game. Although a close, well played game, there were six yellow-cards and a combined total of fourty-one fouls.
The Wright State Raider men's soccer team record now stands at 3-0-1. The next Raider men's soccer game is September 21st, at Vanderbilt. The next home match is September 26th, against Loyola.
