Raiders Lose at Cleveland State
The Wright State University men's basketball made a comeback attempt but it fell just short as WSU lost at Cleveland State 55-52 Saturday night.
Junior Seth Doliboa led all scorers with 23 points and 10 rebounds while senior Vernard Hollins collected 10 points and senior Thomas Hope grabbed seven boards. WSU shot 38% from the field and outrebounded the Vikings 34-32.
The Raiders trailed at half 25-21 as the lead changed 13 times during the game as WSU led by one with 1:55 remaining at 52-51. CSU took the lead for good on two free throws by Andre Williams. Tahric Gosley sealed the win with two more free throws with three seconds left.
Modibo Niakate led CSU with 14 points while Williams had 11 rebounds. The Vikings shot 41% from the field and registered six blocks.
Wright State is now 7-6, 1-2 and Cleveland State goes to 7-9, 2-2. WSU will play at Youngstown State Monday night before hosting Butler Thursday at the Nutter Center.
