Pool Record helps WSU Swimming split meet with Miami

Leading by four points going into the final event, the Wright State men's swimming & diving team set the pool record to defeat Miami, 128-115, while the women fell 154-89 at the WSU Student Union on Friday.
Elvis Cirikovic, Dejan Antolic, John Matzen and Alex Dolgov set a new pool record for the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:07.48. They broke the record set by the Oakland University team in 1991.
The 400 freestyle relay added to seven first place finishes for the men. Cirikovic added wins in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle. Antolic took the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:44.51. Dolgov finished first in the 200 individual medley with a 1:56.16. Ryan Kellerman won the 3-meter diving event and the 400-medley team took first to help Wright State to the victory.
The women on the other hand had a tough time keeping up with Miami with only four first place finishes. Freshman Tina Pandza of Velenje, Slovenia won two events, the 100 and 200 freestyle. Jackie Dexter won the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.16 and the 400 freestyle relay took first in the loss.
The Raiders next meet is Friday, December 12 against Ashland in Largo, Fla.
