Men First, Women Third After Day Three of HL Meet

The Wright State men's and women's swimming and diving teams are right in the thick of the Horizon League Championships after day three of competition in Chicago. The men's team maintained its lead, while the women posted only one victory and fell to third.
To start the events Friday, the men placed second, third and fourth in the 400 IM to open up their lead over the other six teams. Warren Thompson followed that with a victory in the 100 fly and Will Ehresman posted a victory in the 200 free to keep the momentum going.
Rafael Candido and Graham Parker finished third and fourth in the 100 breast and capped the day with a victory in the 800 free relay.
On the women's side of things, Kelsey Cooper posted the only event win of the day for the Green and Gold. Cooper took the victory in the 100 back, finishing in a time of :58.48.
Mabel Fernandez posted a second-place finish in the 200 free and Crystal Grinstead placed second in the one meter diving competition. The women's 800 free relay team placed second in that event to cap off the evening.
The final day of competition in the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships will start on Saturday morning at 10:30.
