The Wright State softball team wrapped up play at the USF Louisville Slugger Tournament in Tampa Sunday, falling to South Carolina 6-0.
It was a scoreless game until the Gamecocks scored three times in the bottom of the third. South Carolina then added another run in the fifth and two in the sixth to round out the scoring.
South Carolina pitcher Melissa Hendon faced just three batters over the minimum. Jamie Perkins doubled to right center in the second and two Raiders reached in the fourth as Kristen Bradshaw had a hit through the left side and Perkins drew a two-out walk.
Wright State, now 2-8 on the season, heads South again next weekend, this time for the Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Raiders open tournament play on Friday, February 29, taking on Jackson State at 9:45 a.m. followed by Kentucky at noon.
