DAYTON, Ohio – The Wright State Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) has announced that junior volleyball player Shaunda Sandifer has been named the SAAC Student-Athlete of the Month, as voted on by a group of her peers. The junior had a solid September with a 3.1 kill average in 50 sets, helping WSU to a 6-7 overall mark during the month.
Sandifer was named the Tournament MVP at the Golden Grizzly Invitational – a tournament which the Raiders were the team champions – and helped the Green and Gold to a runner-up finish at the Raiders Challenge. Sandifer finished the month with 155 kills, 46 blocks and 51 digs over 50 sets played in 13 matches.
The SAAC is design to implement activities that enhance the involvement of sporting events at Wright State University and to promote an awareness of WSU athletics within the campus and Dayton area. They actively encourage involvement of student-athletes in campus and community outreach projects and activities, as well as, provide student-athletes with the opportunity to effectively communicate with the Athletic Department Administration on matters that involves the welfare of the student-athlete.
