Sophomore Bekah Bonny extended her scoring streak to three games with a pair of goal on Friday evening versus Gardner-Webb and sophomore Megan Bush added a third marker to help the Raiders to a 3-0 victory over the Runnin' Bulldogs at Alumni Field.

The Raiders opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Trisha Stevens played a free kick into the box and found Bonny, who hammered it into the open net from 12 yards out for her third goal of the season.

The Raiders would hold their 1-0 edge heading into halftime as Meghan Hackerson made one save in the opening frame for WSU. The Green and Gold would take eight shots to only one for GWU, with the Raiders collecting the only corner kick of the opening 45 minutes.

The second half saw WSU tally a pair of goals and Hackerson would keep the Runnin' Bulldogs (5-5) off the scoreboard to post her fourth shutout of the season. The goals came in the 55th minute, when Bonny connected again off of an assist from Megan Bush, then Bush scored her first goal of the season in the 69th minute.

Bonny tallied her first multi-goal match of the year when Bush sent a crossing pass into the box and the sophomore connected from 13 yards out. Bush then took a long pass from Cassie Gross – who recorded her first career assist on the play – and sent a shot to the far post past the diving GWU keeper for her first goal of the year and the fifth of her career.

The Raiders held a 12-4 edge in overall shots, while Gardner-Webb led in the corner kick category, 4-2. The Green and Gold put six of their 12 shots on goal, while Gardner-Webb forced Hackerson to make only two saves to post the 19th blanking of her career.

Wright State, now 4-4-2 on the season, will conclude their four-match homestand on Sunday, September 27, with a home tilt versus Horizon League foe Cleveland State. The Raiders and the Vikings will take to the pitch for a 3:30 start at Alumni Field.
