
Swimming and Diving Falls at Nationally Ranked Ohio State

The Wright State swimming and diving teams dropped both ends of a dual meet to nationally-ranked Ohio State Sunday in Columbus, falling 205-82 to the #12 Buckeyes on the men's side and 191.5-102.5 to the #30 Buckeyes on the women's side.
The men's team didn't capture any individual victories over the 13-event program at Ohio State, but still had a solid showing versus the Buckeyes. Pawel Grzebala placed second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:41.63 and was runner-up in the 500 freestyle with a 4:42.56 showing.
Hans Roser and Davynn Peffer placed third and fourth place, respectively, in the 100 yard breaststroke with times of 58.98 and 59.24. Hermanus Botha placed third in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events with times of 21.42 and 46.24, respectively.
In the women's program, Molley Pipkorn was a part of all three event victories for the Green and Gold in Columbus. The sophomore posted victories in two of her three individual swims, taking the 100 yard freestyle in a time of 53.10 and took the 200 yard freestyle in 1:53.08.
Later in the meet, Pipkorn placed second in the 500 yard freestyle (5:07.48) her first loss in an individual freestyle swim this season, making her 15-1 overall in freestyle events in 2009-10. She also anchored the winning 400 yard Freestyle relay squad that posted a winning time of 3:35.11.
Freshman Ali Hohman, third in the 50 freestyle (25.19), and Krystyna Wieczerzak, third in the 100 backstroke (59.50) and second in the 200 IM (2:10.49), also had solid showings against the Buckeyes.
The Raiders return home for the next two meets, hosting Cleveland State and Youngstown State on January 23 and competing versus Xavier on Saturday, January 30. The January 30th meet will include senior night presentations and the programs annual Wall of Fame inductions.
