
Swimming Heads to Cleveland for Horizon League Championships

The Wright State swimming and diving teams begin competition at the 2011 Horizon League Championships on Wednesday at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium on the campus of Cleveland State University.
Live final event coverage will be available each night, starting Wednesday and continuing through Saturday, on www.horizonleague.com, provided by the Horizon League Network. The live stream begins each night at 5:30.
On the men's side, Hermanus Botha has the top time in the Horizon League this season in the 200 free (1:39.53), third-best time in the 100 free (45.19) and fourth-best in the 50 free (20.87). Pawel Grzebala is third in the 500 free (4:34.14), fourth in both the 200 free (1:41.11) and 1000 free (9:39.85), fifth in the 1650 free (16:20.68) and 10th in the 100 free (47.04).
Other Raider men to watch for are Hans Roser, who has the second-best time in the 200 breast, seventh in the 100 breast (57.95) and ninth in the 400 individual medley (4:10.34) and Adam Carnell, who is ninth in the 100 free (46.96).
The WSU men have also been strong in diving as Caleb Nettleton holds the league's top mark in the 1 meter (318.15). Corey Johnson has the top mark in the 3 meter (344.40) and third in the 1 meter (296.25), while Eddie Craft is third in the 1 meter (308.75) and sixth in the 1 meter (276.40).
On the women's side, Krystyna Wieczerzak has the league's top times in the 100 back (57.52) and 200 back (2:01.86), along with the second-best time in the 400 individual medley (4:25.87), fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:07.08), fifth in the 200 free (1:53.48) and ninth in the 100 fly (57.94). Molley Pipkorn is second in the 200 free (1:51.22), third in the 100 free (51.89), fourth in the 500 free (5:01.18), fifth in the 50 free (24.22) and sixth in the 1000 free (10:32.30).
Other WSU women to watch for are Kelli Reynolds, who has the third-best time in the 200 fly (2:06.59), fifth in the 100 fly (57.47) and seventh in the 100 free (52.65), Justyna Hampel, who is third in the 1650 free (17:35.74) and seventh in the 1000 free (10:35.34), Rasa Zilinskaite, third in the 100 fly (56.65) and Hannah Jones, seventh in the 200 breast (2:24.80).
Neena Zwier has the third-best mark in 1 meter (264.90) and 3 meter (274.05) diving.
Since joining the Horizon League for the 1994-95 season, the Raiders have won eight championships (1996, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008) on the men's side, the most in league history, and five for the women (1997, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004).
