Women's Soccer Wins Opener at Ohio

Behind a first-half goal from Liz Soto, the Wright State women's soccer team defeated Ohio 1-0 in the season opener for both teams Friday afternoon in Athens.
Soto's goal came just 7:46 into the contest as she headed in a shot off a set piece delivered by Brittany Persaud.
The Raider defense held on from there for the victory as WSU goalkeeper Brooke McCurdy posted the shutout as she recorded six saves.
Wright State returns to action on Sunday, August 21, as the Raiders host Canisius in a 1:00 match at the Athletes in Action Complex in Xenia.
