The Wright State women's soccer team scored a goal late, but it wasn't enough as Colorado held on for a 2-1 win Sunday afternoon at the Omni Hotels Colorado Classic in Boulder.
The Buffaloes took the lead at the 26:15 mark of the first half as Anne Stuller scored her first goal of the season on an assist by Quinn Krier. Stuller later made it 2-0 with another goal at the 80:00 mark of the second half, with Shaye Marshall providing the assist.
Senior Lauren Patterson cut the deficit to 2-1 for WSU at the 85:32 mark as the Colorado native tallied her first goal of the season on a header off a free kick by junior Sarah Gross. It was the first assist of the year for Gross.
The Raiders, though, could get no closer as Colorado finished the match with a 13-7 shot advantage.
Wright State (2-1-1) returns home to face DePaul on Friday, August 31, at 7:00 at Alumni Field.
