
Swimmers Compete at US Winter Nationals

Four Wright State men's swimmers competed in the 2017 Winter Nationals held at Ohio State last weekend. It was a highly competitive field which saw several American records broken.
Mitch Stover, a senior from Versailles, competed in the 200 IM C flight finals with a time of 1:48.13, good for fourth. He also was part of the 100 fly B flight finals with a time of 47.6, good for fifth place, and a new school record. Stover also raced in the B flight finals of the 100 back, posting a time of 48.84 and placing seventh.
Trevor Keriazes, a senior from Springfield, swam in the C Flight of the 100 breast, finishing with a personal best time of 55.23 and placing fifth.
Dominic Poletta, a sophomore from Green, competed in the C Flight Finals of the 50 free, placing eighth. Poletta also narrowly missed the C Flight finals of the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.03.
Kevin McCaffrey, a junior from Elyria, competing in his first National Championship made first alternate for the finals of the 100 breast with a personal best time of 55.58.
Levente Sardi, a sophomore from Hungary who will race for Wright State in the second semester, also competed in his first US National Championship, where he competed the C Flight Final of the 200 breast placing seventh.
The Raiders will be back in action at Horizon League foe Cleveland State January 13 before hosting Xavier January 27.
