Welch Named SAAC Athlete of the Month

Chelsea Welch, a senior on the Wright State women's basketball team, has been named the WSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Athlete of the Month.
The women's basketball team went 4-2 in November as Welch averaged 22.5 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 43% from the field and 90% from the lines. She had a career-high 36 points at #23 Missouri and was named the Horizon League Player of the Week. She added 27 assists and nine steals. The Kettering, OH was also named to the Savannah Invitational All-Tournament Team.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee holds a monthly meeting of Wright State team captains from all 16 sports along with athletic administration to discuss issues and concerns.
