The Wright State softball team won its third straight game Friday in defeating Detroit Mercy 5-1 in the Horizon League opener for both teams at the WSU Softball Field.
Honnah Susor created the first run of the game for the Raiders in the first as she reached on an error, stole second and third and scored as the throw on her steal attempt of third went into the outfield.
WSU then broke the game open with three runs in the third. With one out, Kelly Dillow singled to right and went to second on a Susor hit. A Macey Gunther single through the right side of the infield loaded the bases and two runs scored as Libby Pfeffer's short fly ball dropped into right, with the Titans getting a force out at second on the play. Vivi Marquez then drove in Pfeffer wth a hit through the left side of the infield.
The Titans scored an unearned run in the fourth, only to see the Raiders answer in the bottom of the fifth on a RBI double by Marquez.
