The Wright State University Athletics Department prides itself on not only performing on the field, but in the classroom as well. The NCAA confirmed that fact today with the annual release of the multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores.Â
On the heels of a school-record three programs receiving national recognition for ranking in the top 10 percent of their sports, Wright State added four more programs that outperformed the national averages for their sports.Â
More than half of the Raider teams posted scores above the national average: Baseball (986), Men's Basketball (969), Men's Cross Country (982), Softball (993), Women's Cross Country (1,000), Women's Tennis (1,000) and Volleyball (1,000).
"This shows that our culture of placing our priorities of the person first, academics second and athletics third, not only leads to success on the field, but in the classroom as well," Raider Director of Athletics Bob Grant said. "Between having more than half of our sports performing above the national average in APR and the highest GSR scores in department history over the past two years, we have proven our coaches and staff are developing well-rounded individuals."Â
