FAIRBORN, OH - The Wright State women's soccer team got back in the win column Friday night after a Sunday draw with Valparaiso, as they defeated Thomas More University 4-1.
The first half was quiet until the 34th minute. A free kick by Wright State's Michelle Rings was headed out near the 18 yard box where sophomore Reagan Clark punched it in off the cross bar. WSU went up 2-0 when Kaylin Helinski notched her first career collegiate goal on the Christine Ommert assist.
Thomas More narrowed the margin in the final minute of the first half on a well-placed free kick by Emily Moreira that slipped by goalkeeper Maddie Jewell.
Wright State applied pressure coming out for the second half. Destiny Johnson found the net in the 53' in a scramble for a loose ball against TMU goalkeeper Skylin Yate.
Things remained quiet until the last four minutes of the match when Josie Krupp scored unassisted.
The Raiders moved to 4-0-1, and the Saints suffered their first defeat and are 4-1.
