
Payton Baxter named HL Player of the Week

Wright State softball freshman Payton Baxter has been named the Horizon League's Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Payton Baxter led the Raiders with a .583 batting average and a 1.250 slugging percentage as Wright State went 2-2 in the Scotsman Invitational over the weekend. The freshman had a pair of multi-hit games, including a 2-for-3 showing at the plate with four runs and three driven in courtesy of a two-out, three-run homerun in a five inning win over Wagner. She later recorded a two-run RBI single against Presbyterian, going 2-for-2 and driving in three runs.
The Raiders are 5-8 so far this season and will travel to Tempe, Arizona later this week to take part in the ASU Invitational facing off against five different opponents over three days.
