
Raiders turn in excellent showings at Great Lakes Cross Country Regional

EVANSVILLE, IN – The Wright State men's and women's cross country teams ended the fall seasons on Friday afternoon at the 2021 NCAA Division I Great Lakes Cross Country Regional, turning in some outstanding times while racing some of the deepest and most competitive fields of the season.

The Raider women finished 26th overall in the packed field, with Abigail Halsey turning in a 53rd place finish with her time of 21:05.7 in the 6K race – the new fastest 6K time in Wright State history and 65 seconds faster than her Horizon League title-winning time from two weeks ago.

Alicia Neumeier, Emma Shigley and Kaitlyn Miller all also turned in times that jumped them into the Top 15 in Raider women's 6K history. Neumeier (121) finished with a time of 22:23.4, followed closely behind by Shigley (132) at 22:31.2 and Miller (149) with her 22:46.7. Emma Johnson rounded out the Raider lineup with her 25:40.3 mark.

The Raider men saw movement on their end as well, with three new times jumping into the Top 20 in Raider men's 10K history. Jacob Poling led Wright State with his time of 32:16.7, followed closely by Alex McCarty (32:34.6) and Tayton Hess (32:49.5) as all three moved their names onto the top times historical listing. Bryce Hohman (33:39.6) and Ryan Cooper (34:16.5) rounded out the Raider lineup.
