
Track & Field finishes second at Cherry Blossom Invitational

The Wright State track and field team tallied 10 Top-five finishes, including 23 personal bests on its way to a second place finish at the Cherry Blossom Invitational hosted by Ohio University Saturday Afternoon.
Cameron Campbell recorded two Top-five finishes, placing fourth in the 100 meters with her time of 12.58 and her time of 26.13 was good for a fifth place finish.
Also, in the 100 meters Jayla Tarver finished ninth (13.01) while Morgan Miller finished 10th (13.72). In the 200 meters, Jayla Tarver finished 12th (27.90) and Morgan Miller finished 13th (28.65). Callista Hess (15th, 29.51) and Emma Carr (16th, 29.55) also competed in the event.
The Raiders tallied two Top-five finished in the 400 meters as Alycea Ruhlen finished second with her time of 1:03.27 and Emma Carr's time of 1:09.08 was good for a third place finish. In the 800 meters, Alycea Ruhlen finished second with her time of 2:11.70, while Lauren Shuman (5th, 2:22.73), Melissa Siler (10th, 3:00.36), and Emily Maclean (11th, 3:58.12) also competed in the event.
In relays, the 4x100 meter team of Jayla Tarver, Kayla Willis, Emma Carr, and Cameron Campbell turned in a second place finish with their time of 51.69. In the 4x400 meters, Lauren Shuman, Alycea Ruhlen, Alicia Neumeier, and Cameron Campbell finished third with a time of 4:16.39.
Wright State recorded three top-five finishes in field events, as well as six Top-10 finishes. Melissa Siler finished first in the high jump (1.48 meters) and Callista Hess finished second (1.43 meters). Melissa Siler finished fourth in the long jump, with her jump of 4.79 meters. Callista Hess (6th, 4.53 meters) and Emily Maclean (7th, 4.23 meters) also competed in the event.
