DAYTON - Wright State Director of Athletics Bob Grant announced the addition of a pair of former Raider student-athletes on Tuesday, as Kim Demmings returns to campus as an Academic Advisor and Brooklyne Mason has been named the Special Projects Coordinator.
Â
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Brooklyne and Kim back to our Raider Family," Grant said. "Both are phenomenal people who excelled in the classroom, in the community and in their fields of play, and their experiences as former student-athletes here at Wright State will be invaluable as they transition into their new staff roles."
Â
A former women's basketball standout and the program leader in career points scored, Demmings was named the Horizon League Player of the Year in 2014 and 2016 was also selected a Third Team High-Major All-American and named to the Naismith Watch List as a student-athlete. She also spent four seasons on the women's basketball coaching staff as the director of operations, where she was on the bench for a WNIT appearance and a pair of NCAA Tournament teams.
Â
Mason was a mainstay on the pitch for the women's soccer program from 2014 through 2018, including being named a team captain her final two seasons. She also spent time with the Wright State Sports Performance office as a strength and conditioning intern and has worked with the Greater Miami Valley YMCA since 2019 as the senior wellness director. Part of her responsibilities with the YMCA included oversight of wellness department staff and management of health and wellness activities, scheduling and events.
Â
Demmings graduated from Wright State with her undergraduate degree in Organizational Leadership in 2015 and earned her Master's in Sports Management in 2019. Mason earned her undergraduate degree in Education Sports Science from Wright State in 2018 before adding her MBA from Wright State's Raj Soin College of Business in 2020.
