STROTHERS, OH – The Wright State bowling team opened play at the MOTIV Penguin Classic on Friday afternoon, going 2-3 in the first day of action to sit in 11th in the 13-team field.

Saturday's action will feature five traditional matches, with the final match on Sunday being a best-of-seven Baker match.

Teams bowled five head-to-head Baker matches on Friday, with the Raiders grabbing wins over (RV) Niagara (926-867) and Valparaiso (938-930) while falling to host No. 6 Youngstown State (911-801), No. 19 Central Missouri (947-899) and No. 2 Arkansas State (984-944).

The Raiders finished with a 4,508 total pinfall on Friday with a 180.3 average game score.

Saturday's traditional matches will see Wright State square off against No. 11 Duquesne, (RV) St. Francis, (RV) Lewis and No. 16 Mercyhurst.
