Samborski Sinks First Season Goal at Robert Morris

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania – Wright State women's soccer senior midfielder Annika Samborski recorded her first goal this season in a 2-1 loss at Robert Morris on Saturday afternoon. The Raiders are now 5-9-2 on the season, going 3-4-2 in the Horizon League.
Wright State ended the day with 13 shots, five on goal, besting RMU's (5-5-6, 4-2-3 HL) nine shots, four on goal. The Colonials put up four saves to the Raider's two, and seven corner kicks to the Raider's four.
Samara Nunn led the team with two shots, landing one on target, while Elise Canter and Ruby Dunlevy each had two shots. Caitlin Burger, Addy Canter, Samborski, and Olivia Stroud all had one shot on goal. Defenders Kaitlyn Eyink and Kaylee Pham each had one shot on the day. Goalkeeper Erin Baker logged all 90 minutes, recording two saves. Joining her in the complete game was Pham.
The Raiders had two shots in the first 45 minutes, as Dunlevy put up the first shot just 38 seconds into the match. The second Wright State shot came in the 37th minute as Samborski found the back of the net with an assist from Olivia Mace, giving the Raiders a 1-0 advantage at the half.
The Raiders put up 11 shots in the second half, first by Dunlevy and Nunn in the 52nd and 53rd minutes. The Colonials tied the match in the 62nd, as Taylor Day found the back of the net. A. Canter put one in the bottom left in the 66th, as Pham and Eyink followed with shots in the 69th, and Terada in the 73rd. Stroud had a shot on goal in the 74th, putting it in the bottom right. E. Canter had shots in the 74th and 84th minutes, while Burger and Nunn each had shots in the bottom center in the 80th and 88th minutes, respectively. The game stayed tied until the final minute, as Paloma Swankler scored with 37 seconds left in the match, ending the afternoon 2-1.
The Raiders will close the regular season on Wednesday, October 30 at Northern Kentucky. The game is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff with ESPN+ livestreaming and live stats provided.
