
Bowlers grab multiple OBC honors on Saturday

COLUMBUS – The Wright State bowling team grabbed a pair of first place team finishes in the Ohio Bowling Conference's Event 5 at Columbus Square Bowling Palace on Saturday in a 35-game baker format

Wright State's 'Green' group - Alex Drsek, Makenzie Gossett, Emma Hatfield, Rylie Jeanneret, Mia Sayles, Jasmine Schulze, Allison Shattuck and Alina Stebbins – took home the top spot in their 16-team division, tallying 6,543 total pins, nearly 200 pins more than second place Ohio State. The Raider 'Gold' squad - Abby Derham, Anna Johns, Natalie Hanson, Kennedy Moore, Paige Patterson and Phoenix Perry.  – won their division with a 5,055 total pin mark, over 500 pins better than second place Rio Grande.

Raider head coach Jeff Fleck was named the Ohio Bowling Conference's Coach of the Year, while Jeanneret and Sayles were each named to the all-rookie team. Jeanneret added second team all-OBC honors and the OBC's Newcomer of the Year, with Sayles named to the honorable mention all-OBC while earning the OBC's character award. Derham was named to the OBC first team in the JV division.

The Raiders now turn their attention to the USBC Sectionals on March 9 and 10 and also have the Columbis 300 Music City Classic on March 15-17 remaining on their schedule.
