Women’s Soccer Ties with Green Bay in Conference Opener

DAYTON – The Wright State women's soccer team tied with Green Bay 0-0 on Thursday night. The Raiders will play again on Sunday at 1 p.m. as they host Milwaukee for the second game of Horizon League play.
Wright State (2-5-1, 0-0-1 HL) finished with 12 shots to the Phoenix's (2-3-3, 0-0-1 HL) 10, landing nine shots on goal against GB's six. The Raiders bested Green Bay in corner kicks 8-2, while GB put up nine saves to the Raider's six. Leading the Raiders was Zara Graff with three shots, two on goal, followed by Elise Canter and Samara Nunn with two shots, both on goal. Allison Charleston, Olivia Stroud, and Mylee Sturkey each had one shot, all on target, while Ruby Dunlevy and Kaylee Pham both added one shot.
Goalkeeper Kiera Sarka logged all 90 minutes, tallying five saves. Joining Sarka with 90 minutes was Kaylee Pham. They were closely trailed by Olivia Mace's 83 minutes, Graff's 77 minutes, and Canter's 75 minutes.
Eight of the Raider's 12 shots came in the first half, with six in the first 30 minutes, while Green Bay added only two shots in the first.
The Phoenix bested WSU in shots 8-4 in the second half, as the Raiders went shotless until the 71st minute. Wright State added their final three shots in the last five minutes.
