
Staton named Female Athlete of the Month for January

DAYTON — Amaya Staton, a member of the Wright State women's basketball program, has been named the January Female Athlete of the Month, presented by Dayton Children's Hospital's The Center for the Female Athlete.
Staton averaged 10.5 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game over eight games in the month of January, tallying four double-digit scoring efforts, including a month-best 18 points against Milwaukee. She added multiple rebounds in all eight games last month and had three double-doubles – twice against Milwaukee as well as against Youngstown State.
Staton and the Raiders are on the road for their next two contests, taking on Purdue Fort Wayne Saturday afternoon before heading to face Youngstown State next Thursday. Wright State returns home to the Nutter Center on February 19 to host Oakland.
