INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON – A pair of Wright State student-athletes have been named Horizon League #HLSAAC representatives for the 2025-26 academic year, the League office announced on July 28.
Track & Field junior Jahi McDonald has been named to the HL's representative on NCAA Division I SAAC, while women's basketball senior Lauren Scott will serve on the governance cabinet.
Horizon League SAAC members will serve as Cabinet members in the Horizon League governance structure while two student-athletes will also represent the student-athlete voice and hold one vote on the League Council, alongside all 11 Athletics Directors, one Faculty Athletics Representative and one Senior Woman Administrator. Each of the League's member institutions is represented by two student-athletes on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee that will serve as voting members. The League will also be welcoming general members to this group, in an effort to provide opportunity for development to more student-athletes. #OneHL will also be a part of this group to continue the League's Impact & Belonging initiatives.
The SAAC group participated in an in-person meeting in late May and will continue to meet over several videoconferences throughout the academic year. In the 2025-26 academic year, #HLSAAC will partner with ZIYNX Academy, a career and personal development program built for preparing student-athletes for their future.
