Raiders notch three wins in Friday action

NEW CASTLE, DE - The Wright State bowling team opened play at the Northeast Classic on Friday, going 3-2 in the first day of action but sitting 18th in the giant, 36-team field based off of total pinfall.

Saturday morning gets underway with traditional team matches beginning at 9:25 a.m. Action closes on Sunday starting at 8:25 a.m. with best-of-seven baker matches in bracket play.

The Raiders finished with a 4,694 total pinfall on Friday with a 187.8 average game score. They opened with a close win over Mount St. Mary's (1,068-1,007) before a victory over Molloy (996-788). Wright State dopped back-to-back matches with a 880-819 defeat against Maryland-Eastern Shore and a 1,047-926 loss to North Carolina A&T, but bounced back to close the day with a win over Morgan State (885-834).

Wright State is set to face Vanderbilt, UAB, Kutztown, Howard and Delaware State during Saturday's traditional team matches.
