No. 11 Wright State Bowling Opens Season at Penguin Classic

DAYTON, Ohio – No. 11 Wright State bowling opens the 2026-27 season this weekend at the Chelsea Gilliam Penguin Classic, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 16-18, at Holiday Bowl in Struthers, Ohio.
The Raiders enter the season ranked No. 11 in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Preseason Coaches Poll, the highest preseason ranking in program history. The field includes No. 5 Nebraska, the defending Penguin Classic champion.
Head coach Jeff Fleck, in his 22nd season, brings an eight-bowler travel roster led by five seniors: Emma Hatfield, Rylie Jeanneret, Mia Sayles, Jasmine Schulze and Alli Shattuck. Junior Addy Meshew and sophomores Kylie Fisher and Dottie Sayles complete the group.
The Penguin Classic is the first of 13 events on the Raiders' schedule. Wright State hosts its annual Raider Classic, its lone home event, Nov. 21-22 at Beaver Vu Bowl in Beavercreek, Ohio.
