DAYTON, Ohio — Wright State midfielders Taliah Pellizzari and Gabe Gotting were named to the 2026 Horizon League Scholar-Athlete Teams for women's soccer and men's soccer, the league announced.
The Scholar-Athlete Teams are selected by the league's faculty athletics representatives and recognize student-athletes for success in both competition and the classroom.
Pellizzari
Pellizzari, a health sciences major, earned Dean's List honors in both semesters of the 2025-26 academic year, including Highest Honors in fall 2025, and was named to the President's List in spring 2026. She represents women's soccer on Wright State's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
On the field, Pellizzari appeared in all 19 matches and led the Raiders with 28 shots. She scored two (2) goals, both game-winners, tied for the team high, and added three (3) assists for seven (7) points.
She is the first Wright State women's soccer player named to the league's academic team since Olivia Mace in 2024. Pellizzari was one of 13 players on the women's team, which included student-athletes from nine (9) league schools.
Gotting
Gotting, a business economics major, also earned Dean's List honors in both semesters of 2025-26, including Highest Honors in fall 2025, and was named to the President's List in spring 2026. He is a team captain and represents men's soccer on Wright State's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Gotting was second on the team with four (4) goals and tied for second with nine (9) points. He scored a game-winning goal, went 2-for-2 on penalty kicks and appeared in all 17 matches.
Gotting was one of 14 players on the men's team.
Eligibility
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher, have completed at least one year at the member school with 24 semester hours earned, and have played in at least half of the team's matches.
Rising Raiders
Rising Raiders provides free admission to Wright State home events for students currently enrolled in 12th grade or younger, making it easier for families across the Dayton region to experience Raider Athletics together. It's our way of opening the doors to the next generation and giving young fans the opportunity to discover Wright State, build memories, and become Raiders themselves.
