Request an Appearance by Rowdy or the Wright State Spirit Squads
Bring Raider spirit to your next event! Wright State Athletics accepts appearance requests for Rowdy, the Wright State mascot, and the Wright State Cheer and Dance teams.
All requests are subject to availability and approval by Wright State Athletics. Because our student-athletes and spirit squad members have academic and athletic commitments, we cannot guarantee that every request will be fulfilled. Wright State Athletics events and required team activities take priority over outside appearances.
Requests are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please submit your request as early as possible. Requests submitted less than seven days before the event will incur a $25 late fee.
Submitting a request does not guarantee an appearance. You will receive confirmation once your request has been received and availability has been reviewed. Appearance fees are based on the rates below, with a two-hour minimum charge for all events.
REQUESTER REQUIREMENTS
To ensure a safe and successful appearance, the event organizer must provide the following:
- Private changing and storage space: Provide a secure, private location for Rowdy to change, along with a safe place to store personal belongings and mascot equipment. Public restrooms, closets, and other public spaces are not acceptable. For appearances longer than one hour, a secure, private space must also be available for breaks.
- Drinking water: Provide drinking water for Rowdy throughout the appearance.
- Parking: For off-campus events, provide a parking space close to the event site. Any parking fees must be covered in advance by the event organizer, or an appropriate parking permit must be provided.
IMPORTANT BOOKING POLICIES
- All appearances require approval by Wright State Athletics.
- Availability is limited by academic schedules, athletic responsibilities, and student availability, including during summer and holiday breaks.
- Wright State University reserves the right to decline any appearance request.
- Rowdy and the Wright State spirit squads will not appear at bars or political events.
- A two-hour minimum charge applies to all appearances.
- A $25 late fee applies to requests submitted less than seven days before the event.
- Wright State On-Campus Events: $50
- Off Campus Events: $100 + $0.70 per mile
- Corporate/Private Events: $175 + $0.70 per mile
COST FOR BOOKING SPIRIT SQUADS
- Wright State On-Campus Events: $75*
- Off Campus Events: $150 + $0.70 per mile
- Corporate/Private Events: $225 + $0.70 per mile
*Spirit squad pricing depends on the number of members requested. The minimum rate is based on six total members.
PAYMENT
Once an appearance is confirmed, payment arrangements will be communicated by Wright State Athletics. Please note that an appearance is not considered confirmed until availability and approval have been established.
