Three Raiders and Biancardi Honored
Wright State University men's basketball seniors Seth Doliboa and Vernard Hollins were named to the All-Horizon League first and second teams respectively, and freshman DaShaun Wood was selected to the league's All-Newcomer Team as first-year Raider head coach Paul
Biancardi was voted as the Coach of the Year.
Doliboa, a first-team selection last year, averaged 15.2 points and 7.4 rebounds. The
Springboro, OH native was also honored as a second-team recipient in 2002 as well as being
named to that year's All-Newcomer Team. The 6-7 forward is currently seventh in league
scoring and second in rebounding.
Hollins has averaged 16.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.7 assist per game. The Ft. Wayne, IN
native will finish his career in the top ten all-time scoring, rebounding and assists. He collected
his season-high 24 points against Youngstown State on Feb. 19. The 6-3 guard currently ranks
sixth in scoring, ninth in rebounding and second in assists of the Horizon League.
DaShaun Wood, a 6-0 guard from Detroit, MI, currently averages 8.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and
three assists a game. He had his career-high 21 points against Loyola on February 4 and ranks
26th in scoring, 11th in assists and 10th in steals for the league.
Biancardi, a native of Boston, MA, has posted a 14-13 overall record while going 10-6 in
Horizon League play. He inherited a team that went 10-18, 4-12 the previous season and led
the Raiders to a fourth place tie in 2004. WSU won six road games after winning none last
year, going 5-3 in road league games. A former assistant coach at The Ohio State University
under Jim O'Brien, Biancardi's team consists of four seniors and seven freshmen, including a
starting lineup of two seniors and three freshmen. He also becomes the first Raider men's
basketball coach to receive such an honor.
Since WSU started playing in a conference in 1992, the Raiders have placed 13 players on first
teams, six on second teams and nine on all-newcomer teams. The Raiders will host eight-seed
Loyola in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.
All-League teams are voted on by the head coaches, sports information directors and three
media members from each school.
