INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON – Wright State head coaches Clint Sargent and Alex Sogard, along with student-athletes Jahi McDonald and Kellen Pickett, will represent the Raiders and the Horizon League on important NCAA governance groups during the 2026-27 academic year.
Â
"We are very proud to have Clint, Alex, Jahi, and Kellen represent our university and conference as members of their respective NCAA committees," said Director of Athletics Brad Chandler. "I know they will all have an impact on the conversations in the rooms and have a strong perspective on the continued growth of college athletics."
Â
Sargent will serve on the Division I Men's Basketball Rules Subcommittee, while Sogard will represent the Horizon League on the Division I Baseball Rules Subcommittee. These committees evaluate, review, and update the competition guidelines for men's college basketball and baseball under the NCAA Playing Rules Committees to promote fair and safe play.
Â
"The integrity and rules of our sport have never been more important," said Sargent. "I'm thankful to have a seat at the table representing our league and our university, and I'm committed to doing my part to help protect and move our game forward."
Â
"It's an honor to be a representative on the NCAA rules subcommittee," Sogard said. "College baseball is in the best place it's ever been from a popularity & viewership standpoint. I look forward to helping discuss rules and technology standards in our sport to help grow the game."Â
Â
McDonald and Pickett are two of the three Horizon League student-athletes who are set to serve on NCAA governance groups. McDonald will serve on the Division I Student-Athlete Advocacy Committee and the Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross-Country Oversight Committee. At the same time, Pickett is set to join the Men's Basketball Student-Athlete Engagement Group.
