
Men's Soccer Falls to #15 UIC on Penalty Kicks

The Wright State men's soccer team went pound for pound with top-seeded and nationally-ranked UIC in the Horizon League Quarterfinals Saturday night, reaching a 0-0 draw, but falling 10-9 in a thrilling shootout.
The regulation portion of the match saw UIC throw on a flurry of shots on goalkeeper Tebias Mason, facing 16 shots, while saving six. In the second overtime Mason recorded two more saves, for a total of eight on the night.
Freshman forward Braden Fleak led the Green and Gold with three shots on goal. Jonah Longino, Josh Grossman, Kwaku Gyimah, Jonah Baskin and Jacob Broussard all notched a shot each.
The match was the final outing for seniors David Caputo. Bryan finished his senior campaign with 12 appearances and an assist. Baskin ends his career in the Green and Gold scoring three goals with an assist and 25 shots on goal in 2006. Slemker finished the year with a goal and two assists and 8 shots on goal in 13 appearances, while Caputo appeared in ten matches with an assist and one shot.
Wright State finishes the season 8-9-1 overall and 1-6 in the Horizon League. Freshman Tebias Mason cracked into the top-10 in single season saves with 105 during the 06 season.
