10/9/2006 12:00:00 PM | Men's Soccer
The Wright State men's soccer team had the host Phoenix of Green Bay on the ropes Sunday afternoon, but fell in the end 2-1. Adam Harp had the lone Raider goal, his fourth of the season.
Both teams' net-minders kept the opposing offense in check for the duration the first half, until the Phoenix struck with a goal from David Znaty in the 64th minute. Harp would answer at 70:54 with his fourth tally of 2006, when he headed home a Josh Grossman free kick to tie the game.
Disaster struck in the 88th minute as Green Bay's Mike McCormick broke free to score the game-winning goal of the match to hand the Raiders their fourth consecutive Horizon League loss.
The Green and Gold fall to 6-6 overall and 0-4 in the Horizon League. The Raiders will look to return to their winning ways on Tuesday, October 10, when they will travel to #17 Akron for a nonleague matchup at 7:30.
