Men Split Pair of Matches to Open Home Schedule

SPRINGBORO, OH - The Wright State men's tennis team split a pair of matches to open up the home portion of the schedule. The Raiders defeated IPFW 5-2 on Friday afternoon at the South Regency Tennis Center, but fell to Toledo 0-7 on Saturday.
Against IPFW, the Green and Gold won the first four singles matches, as Lance Koetter saw his first action of the season. Koetter picked up a win over the Mastodons' Nabil Filho and Tony Teufel, Nick Camilleri and Brian Butt all followed with wins of their own.
In doubles the Raiders swept through the Mastodons, winning all three matches. Koetter and Camilleri teamed up for a 8-2 win in first doubles. Butt and Teufel picked up a 8-3 victory in second doubles and Ted Dahmus paired with Dan Sundersingh for a 8-2 triumph in third doubles.
Against Toledo, the Raiders couldn't muster up enough to counter the firepower for the Rockets, falling 0-7 on Saturday afternoon. The Raiders dropped a close match in first doubles, as Koetter and Camilleri were defeated by the UT duo of Mohammed Al-Nabhani and Jared Miller, 6-8.
The Raiders dropped the other two doubles matches and fell in all seven of the singles matches against the Rockets.
The Raiders are 1-2 overall in 2007 and will next be in action on February 2 against Chattanooga in Richomond, KY.
