The Wright State men's soccer team recorded their first multigoal match of the season in a 2-0 victory at Detroit on Friday afternoon. Braden Fleak and Brian Decker each tallied goals as WSU snapped their 10-match losing streak with the win against the Titans.
The two teams played the first half scoreless as Detroit held an 8-3 advantage in shots and WSU keeper Tebias Mason made two saves in the half.
The Raiders took the lead at the 65:47 mark when Braden Fleak tallied his first marker of the 2007 season. Fleak took a through ball from teammate Josh Grossman and chipped a shot into the top-left corner of the net.
With WSU leading 1-0, senior Brian Decker netted his second goal of the season to give WSU their first multi-goal match of the season. Decker beat the UDM keeper one-on-one and tapped a soft shot into the open net to give WSU a 2-0 advantage.
Mason would hold the Titans off the board for the remainder of the match, recording two saves in the second stanza as well, and WSU would pick up their first win since September 7.
The Green and Gold improve to 3-11 overall this season and are now 1-4 in Horizon League play. WSU will play host to Cleveland State on Sunday, October 21, with kick-off scheduled for 2:00.
