Men's Soccer Signs Six Standouts for 2007

DAYTON, OH - The Wright State men's soccer team and head coach Mike Tracy has announced the signing of six student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to play for the Raiders this fall. The class of 2007 includes three student-athletes from the Buckeye State, one from Indiana and two players coming from Texas to compete for Wright State.
Tracy's recruiting class includes Miles Kruzich (Highland Village, TX/ Marcus HS), Tyler Miles (Houston, TX/ Cypress Falls HS), Andrew Eakle (Goshen, IN/ Concord HS), Aaron Ritter (Vandalia, OH/ Butler HS), Jordan Haggit (Pickerington, OH/ Pickerington North) and Brian Cothern (Galena, OH/ Big Walnut HS).
"As a coaching staff, we are very excited about our recruiting class for the 2007 season, and we believe the new Raiders will play right in and contribute quickly." Tracy said. These student athletes have been very successful in both the club and high school soccer scene. We believe this is one of our best recruiting classes that we have had in the past few years."
Kruzich, a 5-11 defender from Highland Village, TX, helped the Solar 89 SC team, coached by Kevin Smith, reach the USYSA National Tournament the past three years. A three time All-Conference, he tallied 13 goals and 26 assists during his first three seasons at Marcus High School. Kruzich has been a member of the Region III Olympic Development Program Team for the last four years and is also a member of the Texas North State Olympic Development Program Team. Kruzich will compete for MHS during his school's winter season.
Miles, a 5-11 forward from Houston, TX, helped the 88/89 Houstonians win the 2006 South Texas State Championship. Miles was a member of 2003 Olympic Development Program National Pool. A member of the Region III Olympic Development Program Team, he has been a part of the South Texas Olympic Development Program since 2002. Miles was named First Team All-District the past two seasons, as well as Player of the Year his Junior Year, tallying 20 goals and adding seven assists during his time at Cypress Falls High School.
Eakle is a 6-3 defender from Goshen, IN, where he helped Concord High School to Conference Championships and a State Semifinal appearance the last two seasons. Eakle scored 21 goals and added 25 assists over the past two seasons and was named First Team All-Conference as a junior and senior. Eakle plays his club soccer for the Indiana Invaders and coach Rick King.
Ritter, the lone goalkeeper in the group, brings his 6-2 frame from Vandalia, OH. Last season he was selected to the All-Miami Valley First Team and was also named All-League for second time. In four years, Ritter has posted a Goal Against Average of 1.00 while garnishing 24 career shutouts. Ritter has been a member of the Ohio South Olympic Development Team from 2002-2006 and plays his club soccer with Ohio FC/ Team Ohio coached by Steve Dawson.
Haggit, a 6-foot midfielder from Galena, OH, was named First Team All-Conference his junior and senior seasons at Pickerington North High School. Haggit helped his team to a runner-up finish in the competitive OCC during his senior season and is a member of the Ohio South Olympic Development Program State Team. Haggit plays for the Eagles Soccer Club out of Columbus.
Brian Cothern, a 5-8 midfielder from Galena, OH, helped Big Walnut High School make the elite eight and final sixteen in the last two state tournaments. This past season, Cothern was named First Team All-State, First Team All-Conference, District Player of the Year, Conference Player of the Year and NSCAA All-Region. During his career at Big Walnut, Cothern scored 69 goals and added 40 assists. Cothern plays his club ball with Blast FC for coach Lesh Shkreli. Cothern will be reunited with his high school teammate, Braden Fleak, a current member of the Raiders squad.
The 2007 edition of the men's soccer team will open their season on the road against Michigan State on August 31. Time for the Raiders match against the Spartans is TBA.
