
Men's Tennis Splits in Day One of Horizon League Championships

The #4 seed Wright State men's tennis team split a pair of matches Saturday at the Horizon League Championships in Indianapolis, defeating #5 seed UW-Green Bay 4-1 before falling to #1 seed Butler 4-2.
In the first-round match against the Phoenix, WSU earned the doubles point as Lance Koetter and Nick Camilleri won in first doubles along with Brian Butt and Dan Sundersingh in third doubles. The Raiders then claimed the match and advanced to the semifinals as Tony Teufel, Camilleri and Craig Smith won in singles action.
The Raiders took the early lead against Butler by again earning the doubles points with wins from Koetter/Camilleri and Teufel/Smith, but the Bulldogs won four of five singles matches to advance to the finals. The lone win for WSU came from Brian Butt in fourth singles.
Wright State will take on Cleveland State Sunday at 9 a.m. in the third-place match.
