
Men's Soccer Take Double Overtime Match at Milwaukee

The Wright State men's soccer team recorded their fifth victory on the season as Braden Fleak tallied the golden goal just 33-seconds into the second overtime for a 1-0 decision at Milwaukee Friday. The 1-0 victory is the first overtime victory for WSU this season and the 22 shots are the second most this season for WSU.
The two teams played a scoreless regulation, with the Raiders holding a sizable 17-6 advantage in shots. The Green and Gold forced the Milwaukee keeper to make nine saves in regulation and WSU took five corner kicks to only one for the Panthers in the first 90-minutes.
In the first overtime, the Raiders again held the advantage in shots (3-1) and the UWM keeper made two saves – with the other shot hitting the crossbar.
WSU struck in the second overtime, with Fleak connecting on his eighth goal of the season. The goal came only 33-seconds into the second overtime as Fleak took a rebound of his own shot and angled one past a diving Panther keeper for the golden goal.
The Raiders outshot Milwaukee 22-7, took six corner kicks to only one for UWM and forced Ryan Germann made 12 saves in the match. Sophomore Matt Koewler made only one save for Wright State to post his second straight shutout.
The Green and Gold improve to 5-12-1 overall and even their Horizon League record at 3-3-1. Wright State will wrap-up their regular season at Green Bay on Sunday, November 2 starting at 2:00.
