
Cross Country Competes at Greater Louisville Classic

The Wright State men's and women's cross country squads traveled south to compete at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday at Tom Sawyer State Park. The men's squad posted a 31st place finish at the meet, while the women collected a 26th place finish.
In the men's race, sophomore Isaiah Kessio posted the Raiders top finish as he crossed the finish line in 108th place. The Mosoriot, Kenya, native posted a career-best time of 25:48 in the 8K race to pace the Raiders. All nine of the runners for the Green and Gold set a personal best time on the 8K course on Saturday.
On the women's side of things, Natalie Hopwood posted the top finish for WSU as she set a career-best with a time of 18:58. The time for Hopwood marked the first time in the recent history of the program that a runner has posted a time under 19-minutes.
Other top finishers for the women included five runners who posted times at or under 20:15. Of the six competitors for WSU, five of them set career best times at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday.
The next race for the Raiders will be on Friday, October 10th when they travel north to compete in the All-Ohio Championships. The men's race will start at 2:00 and the women's race will compete at 2:45.
