WSU jumped out to a 13-7 advantage following a Shey Peddy layup with 13:26 remaining in the first half, only to see Milwaukee respond with a 10-3 burst over the next three minutes to regain the lead. Wright State went back up four on a Sierra Crayton layup, but the Panthers scored 10 of the next 12 points and maintained that four-point margin into the halftime break at 34-30.

The Panthers finished at 64 percent for the game while Wright State was at 40 percent. Milwaukee also led 40-30 in points in the paint and made 10 of 19 foul shots compared to just five of six for the Raiders. WSU forced 23 turnovers while committing 18, but it was UWM that held a 23-22 advantage in points off of turnovers.
